Myanmar Military Burns Rohingya Civilians
Attacks of 30 Myanmar police and military posts by Rohingya militants have long tails. With cunning tactics, the Myanmar military burned down a mosque that was being used for dawn prayers in congregation.
"They are killing civilians who are praying, they are really devils," shouted Hasan (32), as quoted from TheAsiaGuardian.com
At least hundreds of innocent people became victims of the sadistic burning. Moreover, the burned mosque is one of the refuge of Rohingya.
The government of Myanmar has not issued any statement regarding the brutal action.
Meanwhile, fighting is still going on around the town of Rathedaung, where there has been a buildup of Myanmar troops in recent weeks.
"Military and police members are battling Bengali extremist terrorists," said Min Aung Hlaing, the country's supreme commander of the armed forces, in a statement that uses country descriptions for the Rohingya militant group.
"People are hiding, especially parents and women," said Hla Tun, a Rohingya man from a village close to the battle site, to the Guardian.
"The military tried to enter our village at 3:30 pm and shot us with firearms," ??he said, adding that four Rohingyas were killed. (tags)
